A Note from Pastor Beth Thomas March, 2016
When it comes to writing a note about Easter I am almost at a loss for words. What can anyone say about the biggest day of the Christian year? About the world-changing event of Christ’s resurrection! About how this is the reason we believe!
Without Easter we wouldn’t be believers or Christians or people of faith…at the most we would be nice people trying to live good lives, but believing in…what? Very early in my life I heard a sermon about the difference between Christians and “nice people.” It was about the seriousness of going that extra mile to let people know what you believe. It may be one of the reasons God called me to be a pastor—it is easier for me to share my faith with a title attached to my name!
What about you? How do you share your faith? You might want to consider inviting a friend or family member to come to church. Many of our members have been doing that recently and two weeks ago we had a record turn-out (for the new millennium) of 45 people! If inviting someone to Sunday service is too much—how about an egg hunt—just one of the many special things GPC is offering for this celebratory time of the year. Check out our schedule of events, below. He is risen! He is risen, indeed!
